We regularly build
this cooker door in our adobe-cookers. On the photo you can see an
example. The extending edge on top of the cast iron cooker door is
shoved under the hearth plate. The knob on this door has a spring.
That way, the handle will stay cool while burning the wood.
Wood is the fuel for our cookers.
